19th Century Oil Portrait of a Lady with Braids in Green
19th Century portrait of a lady stretched to riser. This painting has been excellently restored at some point. Upper left shoulder there is a visible restoration of the canvas, but otherwise no visible markings. Painting is also lined on the side to cover nails and outer frame edge. There is no visible signature that I could find. painting is done by a very skilled artist.
The lady is adorned with earrings and a heart choker that has a cross hung below as well as a ring on her ring finger. Holding in her right hand is a scroll. On the scroll it reads:
“Souvenir D’un Pelerinage a Ste Ane D’ Auray”
“Bretagne 18 Septembre 1849”
